Networking Events in Seattle

Over the last few months I have been compiling a list of networking events that I have attended and also more that I have heard about while networking. Some recently have called me a "power networker"; I think(?) that’s a compliment.

I have three lists to share. Let me know what’s most useful and I will focus on that list.

Seattle area events I have attended

• Seattle Tech Startups – Monthly. Two great speakers in August about the Freemium model and metrics of web based services. Lots of great people to meet in the tech community. September’s topics were both A/B testing methods and promotion of A/B web testing.
• Seattle Startups Open Coffee – Tuesday weekly event. Many experienced entrepreneurial professionals willing to share advice and stories. Very smart people attend on a regular basis.
• Eastside Startups Open Coffee – Wednesday weekly event. Similar to the Seattle event. More laptops open, more technical people.
• Seattle Job Social – Networking event for employers, recruiters, job seekers, etc. I attended an event at the Columbia Club in Seattle. Especially good event for employers looking for quality candidates.
• Startup Weekend – Build startups in a weekend. August event hosted in Redmond by BizSpark (Microsoft). I came away with a brand new startup (…results not typical).

• TechFlash event list – includes STC from above.
• Seattle Tech Calendar – the most populated online calendar of tech events in Seattle that I know of.

• I Love Seattle – Seattle Networking Guide
• BizNik events – A larger general networking site

Events I have yet to attend

• Hops & Chops – regular event. Again, heard good things
• TechFoam – Eastside version of Hops and Chops.
• Six Hour Startup
• Saturday House

So many events, so little time. Also, check out Meetup.com for more local events. I think all of my links are are tech or startup related, but Meetup has other great meetings as well. I’m participating in two so far. If you have more events or lists of events, please comment.
