Learn Silverlight and WPF
Back in June John Pelak, Bill Lodin, and others of Microsoft hosted XAMLFest Online, an online training series about gettings started with XAML, the language of Silverlight and WPF. All of the sessions are available online from the XAMLFest Online website. Microsoft also had a XAMLFest tour in several cities around the US. As of this posting, the last days of the tour were in March.
I highly recommend watching the sessions. Half are aimed at developers using Visual Studio and half are targeted towards designers using Expression Blend 3.
After participating in XAMLFest, I ported my code generator’s UI to WPF in just a few days. I also started creating a new UI for a Line of Business application in Silverlight. The code in both applications is much cleaner than I had imagined, and with a few touch ups, they will look great.
